OBX Jeep Invasion 2025: Jeep Life Takes Over the Outer Banks

The Outer Banks will echo with the sound of Jeep engines this fall as the OBX Jeep Invasion returns for its fifth year. From September 18–20, 2025, thousands of Jeep owners will gather in Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, and beyond for a weekend packed with rides, music, and coastal adventure.

Kickoff Party: A Pirate’s Start to the Weekend

On Thursday, September 18, the invasion begins at the Jolly Roger Restaurant & Barn in Kill Devil Hills. It’s more than just registration packet pickup — the night features live music, food, drinks, and a pirate costume contest that ties into the Outer Banks’ salty history.

Beach Crawls and Sunrise Convoys

Friday and Saturday mornings, Jeepers roll out in convoy for the Kitty Hawk Beach Crawls. These runs are capped at 100 Jeeps each day and sell out fast. Starting from the Eckner Street Beach Access, the crawl stretches down open sand, with the Atlantic surf just a few feet away. Registration fees support Kitty Hawk Ocean Rescue, making it more than just a ride.

New for 2025: Alligator River Trail Ride

Jeeps driving through Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge during OBX Jeep Invasion 2025 guided trail ride

This year adds a guided Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge Trail Ride. Meeting at the Sarah Owens Welcome Center in Manteo, participants will swap sand for forest trails, spotting wildlife and experiencing a different side of the Outer Banks off-road.

Show & Shine, Music, and More

Friday’s Fun Run Adventure puts a poker-run twist on OBX exploration, while the Soundside Event Site becomes the hub for vendors, raffles, and live bands.

  • Friday: Anthony Rosano and the Conqueroos bring a blues-rock punch.
  • Saturday: The Daniel Jordan Band turns up the energy with Carolina country.

Saturday also hosts the Show & Shine competition, where Jeeps of every build and style compete for trophies across categories like Best in Show, Most Creative, and Most Off-Road Capable.

Lighthouse-to-Lighthouse Toy Run

The weekend closes with the Lighthouse-to-Lighthouse Toy Run, now scheduled for Saturday at sunset. Jeepers gather at Bodie Island Lighthouse before rolling south along NC-12 to the iconic Cape Hatteras Light Station.

It’s a ride with purpose — participants bring new toy donations to support children in Dare and Currituck Counties. Few Jeep convoys match the sight of a sunset run between two historic lighthouses, headlights glowing on the sand.

Trail Gear Oasis on the Coast

At Trail Gear Oasis, events like the OBX Jeep Invasion are why we build the gear we do. Quick-deploy covers, shade solutions, and trail-ready equipment are made for weekends like this — where weather shifts in minutes and your rig doubles as your basecamp.

Our crew will be at the vendor village in Nags Head all weekend, catching up with Jeepers, showing off our favorite setups, and soaking in the energy of one of the best gatherings on the coast. If you’re rolling into the Invasion, stop by and say hello.
